Marjorie Cooper Paschang
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
National Certified Counselor
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Applied Behavioral Science as well as my Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology at The University of Kansas. I have worked in community mental health settings providing therapeutic services to adults and adolescents with a variety of concerns and challenges and am currently in private practice. Beyond my clinical work, I have also worked with adults and seniors at the University of Kansas Medical Center offering inpatient and outpatient counseling.
My approach to counseling is person centered and focuses on tailoring treatment to my client's individual needs. I enjoy using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, an approach that centers around each individual's unique values and helps to redirect thoughts and behavior back toward one's most cherished beliefs and morals. I also work with mindfulness-based practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Somatic Experience/Emotionally Focused methods. I am well versed in Exposure and Response Prevention and satiation methods as well. My goal is to listen to my client's needs and apply different treatment methods to create a unique therapeutic experience for each client.
